Bitcoin

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that allows for peer-to-peer transactions over the internet. It was created in 2009 by an anonymous person or group of people using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin operates on a technology called blockchain, which is a public ledger that records all transactions in a secure and transparent manner. Unlike traditional currencies issued by governments (fiat currencies), Bitcoin is not regulated or backed by any central authority. It is generated through a process called mining, where powerful computers validate transactions and add them to the blockchain. Bitcoin can be used for a variety of purposes, including online purchases, investments, and as a store of value, often referred to as “digital gold.” Its value can be highly volatile, influenced by market demand, investor sentiment, and regulatory developments.
